This is commonly used technique you may have already used many times. Visualising and doing is the best way to program memories and positive affirmations into your brain and help you to drive your dreams forward.

 

Small steps, one at a time

 

The most common cause of failing to meet your objectives is to aim to high and try to achieve you goal in one giant step. It’s not a problem to aim high but if your goal is not realistically achievable within a meaningful timescale then you will most certainly lose focus and your dream will fade away. It’s imperative that you set small steps along the way and set realistic milestones to demonstrate progress to yourself, for example aiming to write one chapter of the novel you are working on over the next month is a specific within a timescale that will keep you focussed.

This concept may sound ludicrous but it is actually very powerful and can supercharge your ability to achieve your goals. This technique is used by many highly successful individuals and is one you should definitely think about putting into use. The idea is that if you set your self very small and almost laughably easy goals then you will almost certainly achieve them, if these are set daily then by the end of the week these steps will have built into a substantial achievement.

 

Take action

 

It is absolutely imperative that you take action on your goals. Success does not come to those who wait for it so you have to go out and get it yourself. No matter how small the step, if you do not take some sort of action then you will never make progress.

 

Tell people about your goals

 

Don’t be afraid to share your dreams with your friends and family. It’s much easier to make progress and stay focussed when you have a support network set-up to help you along the way. This keeps the motivation levels up when the going gets tough.
